This is cool. If you’re a screenwriter, or hoping to become a screenwriter, there is a group on Twitter you need to check out – #scriptchat. It’s a place where writers from all over the world talk about screenwriting, and discuss screenplays.
New York City screenwriter Jeanne V Bowerman started #scriptchat in October 2009 and it’s become quite a hit amongst the writing crowd. Officially, #scriptchat is held every Sunday at 8pm GMT (for Europeans) and 8 pm EST for North Americans. But #scriptchat discussions seem to break out just about every night.
“Scriptchat is a community of new & seasoned screenwriters chatting together to learn and grow,” says Jeanne. “Leave your ego behind… but bring your tequila.”
Check out the official webpage for #scriptchat dedicated to the screenwriting community. It contains transcripts of their chats, as well as instructions on how to find them on Twitter. More than that, you’ll also find news and events dedicated to screenwriters. Have fun!
